We exist to help dogs who need care, comfort, medical support, and a chance to heal.
Many of the animals who come to us need immediate medical attention, pain management, surgery, medication, rehabilitation, or hospice support.
These needs can be urgent, complicated, and expensive, but they are also the difference between suffering and comfort, fear and safety, survival and a second chance.
Every dog who comes through Love From Louie has a story.
Some stories are heartbreaking.
Some are hopeful.
Most are both.
A quiet place to heal
One of the most important parts of Love From Louie is our on-site private healing space, located in the barn. This rehab room gives dogs a calm, monitored setting where they can relax and recover without the stress of constant noise, bright lights, heavy human traffic, or other stressed-out animals.
For dogs coming from trauma, injury, illness, surgery, or overwhelming environments, that quiet matters.
It gives them space to breathe. Space to rest. Space to begin trusting again.
In the past thirteen months, this healing room has helped change the course of 24 lives.
We’re known for saying yes to dogs others may not be able to help because of injury, illness, advanced age, or special needs.
Each request for intervention by Love From Louie is evaluated based on multiple factors, including the animal’s condition, the urgency of the need, available resources, and input from trusted community partners.
We work with veterinary care providers, suppliers, shelters, and other front-line professionals to provide medical care and daily necessities.
We know that every situation is different. Some requests involve emergency medical needs, quality-of-life concerns, dogs whose people love them deeply but need help accessing care, supplies, or support.
Approximately 85% of the funds donated by generous supporters like you are used for direct medical care.
The remaining funds help cover the everyday supplies and support these animals need, including food, hospice medications, heartworm preventatives, parasite treatments, cleaning supplies, grooming services, bedding, collars, microchips, and ID tags, and more.
Our work is rooted in one simple belief: every animal deserves to be safe, cared for, and seen.
